Cafe Bar N'ista is the culmination of a dream that first surfaced in 2015. Then in February 2016 myself and Sally had a short break in Venice and it was during this time that the inspiration for Cafe Bar N’ista was formed. Having stumbled across a small bar well off the beaten track and we were both taken aback with the food and wine options available and thought this could work back home. Simple, but very cosmopolitan.

A few sites in Sefton were visited but unfortunately none were suitable and the search continued. It was then we heard that the old Retreat premises in Birkdale may becoming available and realising the potential the location we arranged a meeting with the owners.

Seven months later the dream became a reality. On 3rd October 2016 we started refurbishing and within six weeks the majority of the work was completed and we started trading. Selecting the best wines, beers and spirits from the UK and Europe came first followed by the sourcing the food from local suppliers right here in the village.

As of today it is what we wanted to achieve and a little bit more as. It’s relaxing and comfortable with numerous different areas, including plenty of outdoor seating in the sunniest spot in Birkdale, which allow social groups to enjoy each other’s company, whilst sampling, what we would say, is the best choice of wines beers and food.

We now are also very proud to offer Accommodation in the form of 4 well appointed Rooms with En-suite facilities, with their own private access, above the Bar.
