Birkdale Village is a traditional Victorian shopping village located on the North  West coast, minutes from the popular seaside resort of Southport and only 18 Miles from Liverpool and 42 Miles from Manchester by car.  Trains run to all three locations from Birkdale station, which is just across the road from us, with trains to the  City of Liverpool running every 15 minutes .

The villages Victorian boulevards are home to many local business, selling everything from gifts to clothing and locally sourced and international foods. The Birkdale Cheese centre for example stocks over 120 different top quality cheeses and even cheese wedding cakes.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink as well, obviously there's your favourite  Cafe Bar Ni'sta ,
but also our sister Restaurant Coast Birkdale, however the village boasts many other bars and restaurants with a
wide choice of menus from taly, Europe, India and the best of British.

Sports

Birkdale, as the location of Royal Birkdale,is synonymous with Golfand with several championship courses on its doorstep that's no surprise.  Birkdale was also home to triple Grand National winner Red Rum (Aintree Racecourse is only a short drive away).  Liverpool and Everton Football clubs are also only a short journey away ( Southport FC is even closer) and only down the road is Southport and Birkdale Sports Club, home to S&B Cricket and Hockey clubs

Leisure

Our neighbour Southport is a seaside town that boast many leisure facilities including a marine boating lake, five landscaped  parks (Victoria park is home to the annual flower show), a skate park,  model railway village, miles of beaches, Britians second longest pier, 3 Theatres, Pleasureland funfair... and much more.  So there's plenty to do on your doorstep.

Culture

If Culture is more your thing then why not visit The Atkinson theatre and museum located on Southport's famous Lord Street. Its full of fascinating local history, inlcuding a section dedicated to comic book hero Dan Dare . Or why not see the mowers of the famous at  The British Lawnmower Museum.  For those seeking the wildside, Martin Mere Wetland Centre provides fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities or take the train to Freshfield to visit Formby Red Squirrel Reserve. A little further afield on Crosby beach is Anthony Gormleys Another Place
